Kia Kaha, Kia Ora | Be Active, Be Well

ACTIVE 4 LIFE
Getting more people, more active, more often!

Active 4 Life has been a part of the Hawke’s Bay community for over 30 years.  This has been delivered by Sport Hawke’s Bay for its duration and has a very strong and passionate group of seniors who both participate and volunteer their time to ensure the smooth running of these programmes.

Our focus is to provide an opportunity for older adults to maintain their health and remain independent for as long as possible.  Our classes also provide an opportunity for socialisation as many of our seniors live alone.  Our programmes have a positive impact on both their mental and physical health.

OUR PROGRAMMES

CASE STUDY

KEEPING PEOPLE MOVING IN THE BAY

Active 4 Life was established in 2014 evolving from the earlier
Kiwi Seniors, established in 1991. Specifically tailored for adults
(Kaumātua) over the age of 50. It is one of the many initiatives
led by Sport Hawke’s Bay to enhance the health and well being
of Hawke’s Bay through influencing, enabling and supporting our
communities to be more physically active.

Active 4 Life goes beyond just providing a group exercise
programme, it is about manaakitanga, whanaungatanga,
socialisation and empowering people to be more physically
active. With over 90% client satisfaction, Active 4 Life programmes
cater specifically to older adults and address their unique needs,
helping them maintain their health, fitness, and overall quality of
life.
