SECONDARY SCHOOL SPORT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The Management Committee recognize the importance of Secondary School sport. It is an essential part of school life and it has many positive outcomes for the students and the school alike. The guidelines below have been established to ensure Hawke’s Bay Secondary School students have quality experiences that are fair and safe.
PRIMARY CAREGIVER RELOCATION EXEMPTION
Where the primary caregiver of a student has changed address and, as a consequence of this relocation, the student could not reasonably have been expected to remain at their previous school, an application for exemption may be submitted.
Applications for Primary Caregiver Relocation Exemption, with evidence attached, must be made on the official application form below and received by the Regional Sports Director at least 4 weeks before the date of the event for which application is made.
The application will be considered by a regional committee and the school notified of the outcome. Any appeal to a regional decision must be made, in writing, by the principal of the new school directly to NZSSSC at firstname.lastname@example.org .
ONLY seek a Primary Caregiver Relocation Exemption if you will exceed the quota and have a student/s that qualify for the exemption.

NZSSSC INTEGRITY FRAMEWORK
The feedback from principals, sports directors and co-ordinators and sport has been unanimously positive and in support of both the new NZSSSC Integrity Framework and the new regulation regarding short term non-domestic students.
The NZSSSC Integrity Framework has 3 components – an Integrity Statement that is explicit about the values embedded in school sport in NZ, a Code of Conduct to describe the behaviours that reflect these values and a Disciplinary Process that outlines the procedures that may be invoked should the any allegations of the code being breached arise.
The Integrity Framework highlights the responsibility that principals have ensure all associated with their school’s sporting programme act in accordance with the spirit of school sport. This reflects the view of the board that such matters will always be a balance between regulations and the integrity of principals. The integrity framework will apply to all 436 NZSSSC member schools and any other school that enters an NZSSSC sanctioned event. The full Integrity Framework is available on the NZSSSC website or Click Here
