This key quote of Sport Hawke's Bay is what Active Recreation is all about. There are lots of ways that people can get active in Hawke's Bay, including walking and cycling.
There are many programmes on offer to encourage people of all ages to stay active.
For those that are already active, check out our maps of great places to walk and cycle around Hawke's Bay. For older adults, there are even special KiwiSenior classes. .
For those that need a little encouragement, there is a range of programmes - there will most likely be one for you!
- Active Families - is a fun activity-based session for overweight and sedentary school children.
- Green Prescription - is a medical prescription for more exercise for adults.
- Focus on Women - come along and try a range of different activities, in a non-threatening safe environment. Open to women of all ages.
- Falls Prevention - designed for the elderly in the community who are susceptible to falls (strict enrolment criteria exists)
